An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic unit on Economics: The Science of Decision-making This unit is important because it develops the connection between economic systems and government systems in our society; every aspect of daily life is impacted by both of these systems. It is vital that our students understand their importance. Essential concepts of this unit are the "isms" of government, the structure/function of economic systems, the decision-making processes involved, and essential questions that must be answered.
