An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit on Food Food use and its origin are important in the choices we make in daily living situations. Concepts to be covered include where food comes from, how we get food, using food labels, importance of conserving food, food safety (FDA), food uses in celebrations, and use of the new Food Guide Pyramid.
