Gimme Some Elbow Room! From The Exploration of Lewis and Clark To The Donner Party
An Integrated, Intedisciplinary, Thematic Fifth Grade Study of Westward Expansion in 19th Century America This unit helps students develop an understanding of 1) why people moved westward, 2) the hardships they endured; and 3) the effects expansion had on the pioneers and the Native American population, and 4) the effects expansion had on the environment.
