A study of genetics today...making your genes fit!
An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Unit Exploring the Science of Genetics and Bioethics The importance of the study of genetics today is precipitated by such events as the first cloned sheep, the necessity of DNA evidence in rape/murder trials, and the ethical ramifications of responsibility. While the first basic essential component will be an understanding of Punnett squares, other components are far-reaching, and include an understanding of science concepts such as heredity and dominant/recessive traits, as well as mathematical, political, and ethical concepts.
