An Integrated, Interdisciplinary Thematic Unit on Westward Expansion and Nebraska Pioneers. This unit is intended for fourth graders to
1) Understand of who the pioneers were and why they wanted to go west.
2) Identify how westward movement changed and shaped the U.S.
3) Describe the daily life and hardships faced by the pioneers along the Oregon Trail
4) Locate and identify key points along the Oregon Trail.
