An integrated, interdisciplinary high school unit appropriate for students with IEP's (and those without) Westward migration of the 1800's are important historically to the settlement of the Western part of the United States and the United State's growth as a world power. Westward migration affected relations with Native Americans, encouraged Immigration to the United States of several ethnic groups and changed the lifestyles and culture of the United States.
