Area You Ready to Volume to the Perimeter

An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Unit of Geometry with an emphasis on measurement for practical application. Most people readily understand that measurement and geometry apply directly to the world around them. Two and three dimensional geometric figures provide models for objects or ideas we wish to explore mathematically. Using measurement, we may assign numbers to the attributes of objects I such a way that we can compare these objects to others or determine measurement of other attributes difficult to measure directly. Opportunities to apply the concepts of perimeter, area, and volume occur in everyday situations and can be used to solve a variety of real world problems.
