As the World Turns...or Daytime Drama, Nighttime Excitiment, and Primetime Space!
An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit Exploring the Daytime and Nighttime Skies and Their Impact upon Life on Earth This unit is important because students will demonstrate and understand how the Earth's systems and processes work together. This includes Earth and Space Science, Life Science, and Scientific Inquiry. Essential concepts will be the understandings of Day and Night Skies. The moon is our closest neighbor in space. As it travels around the earth, it appears to change shape in a monthly cycle. The moon also appears to move slowly across the night sky. The sun is a giant ball of burning gas that gives Earth heat and light. It is the brightest object in the sky and allows life to exist on Earth.
