Ask Not What Your Country Can Do For You" or..."The Buck Stops Here" From Captivism to Capitalism
An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Study of rules/laws and their impact and implications on our lives. Many Americans focus on the costs of our democratic system of government (taxes, limits on freedoms, inefficiency of court system...) While awareness
of costs is important, a stronger awareness of the benefits of democracy seems to be lacking. Through a comparative study of several different forms of government, students will gain a more balanced picture of not only the costs but the benefits our system of government. This picture will furnish them with the knowledge and skills needed to become literate members of a democratic society.
