An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Unit on the Influence of Hispanic Cultures on the United States This unit will introduce seventh and eighth graders to Hispanic cultures and their impact on U. S. society. This unit addresses ACTFL (American Council of Teachers of Foreign Language) Standards 2.1 and 4.1: 2.1 Students demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between the practices and perspectives of the culture studied. 4.2 Students demonstrate understanding of the concept of culture through comparisons of the cultures studied and their own.
