An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Approach to World War II from D-Day to VE-Day in France and Germany. To understand World War II and society's reaction to it is to come somewhat closer to understanding humanity itself. A thorough investigation of the daily life, arts, literature, geography, and technology of both the French and German societies from the invasion in June of 1944 to the capitulation in 1945 will afford students many insights and allow them to draw conclusions regarding how one reacts to war and its ensuing consequences.
