An Integrated, Interdisciplinary Study of the Journey From Elementary to High School. The transition from childhood to adulthood is a period of tremendous physical and emotional change. Through this unit students will learn that young people in all cultures have "rites of passage". In exploring this passage, students will understand the importance of making appropriate choices that will allow them to develop into successful adults. They will come to understand that this experience is natural, normal, and beneficial.
