Brother can you spare a Dime, a Ruler, or a Clock?: The Long and Short of It.
An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit on measurement, including linear measurement, time, and money. Teachers often find it time consuming and sometimes difficult to develop in-depth, meaningful hands-on lessons related to measurement. When students do not learn the concepts of measurement they do not perform well on standardized tests. This unit will help students apply their measurement skills to real life situations by recognizing and using measuring and measurement tools, comparing measurements, linear measurement, telling time, counting coins, finding area and perimeter, and solving problems.
