A thematic lesson on weather and climate. Weather and Climate make the world go around. In this unit, students will learn what climate is and what earth's major climactic regions are. Students will explore how information is gathered about current weather conditions, how predictions are made, and how information is communicated to the population. Students will learn that weather affects all of our lives everday, what we eat, what we wear, where we live, how we communicate, and how we transport ourselves and goods and place to place. Weather affects our moods and inspires artists, musicians, writers and poets. Students will gain knowledge of safety and healing strategies to practice in the event of weather emergencies. The knowledge and wawareness gained will help prepare students make life decisions.
