An Integrated, Interdisciplinary Study of Communities It is essential for students to understand the social and economic foundations of the communities developed during the westward expansion and cattle kingdom era. The student should have a sense of belonging and pride within their community based on these social and economic foundations. Students should develop skills to be responsible, contributing members of their community. It is also essential that students be aware of social, historical, spiritual, and environmental interactions of culture groups, within their community, in order to provide a more cohesive community for the future.
