CSI: Classroom Science Inquiry Investigates Up, Up, and Which Way?!
An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit on Scientific Inquiry Explored Through Flight This Scientific Inquiry FLIGHT Unit will focus on interaction and change with paper airplanes, bottle rockets, and kites, encompassing the scientific inquiry method as a process to explore the natural world using observations and investigations. The students will learn how manês quest for flight has impacted modern society. The students will plan and execute a simple investigation on how forces will cause change in an objectês position, motion, and speed through simple aeronautics. The students will observe and record their results and modify their prototype to engineer a design to experiment with the variables of position, motion, and speed.
