Don't koala me, I'll koala you because I'll be right outback!

An interdisciplinary thematic unit on communities of Australia for 2nd and 3rd grade students. Australia is unique: a diverse island, country and continent with incredible variety of plants, animals, and landscapes. Australia also shares a similar history with the United States and with Colorado. Both share a similar clash of cultures between the indigenous people and the European immigrants. Students will gain insight into the similarities and differences of these and other aspects of Australia. They will compare and contrast their hometown and state with Australia and extend their learning to include world cultures.
