An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit on the motivations for, the experience of, and the global changes brought about by the discovery, exploitation, and settlement of the New World. The motivation for and results from the discovery, exploration, and settlement of the new world produced global changes. Analyzing and understanding the motivation to find new routes to India/Asia, and the global effects from the discovery of the new world: The Columbian Exchange, slavery, settlements, plunder, and religion will provide the student with a broader understanding of the origins leading to the creation of America.
