Family and Consumer Science. How Fastion is Created

An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit on Fashion Design Over the centuries the design of clothing has gone from being used for modesty and protection; to religious and cultural use; to identification, status and adornment. Students need to gain historical knowledge of fashion and textiles, garment construction skills, fashion design and illustration principles, skills which in turn can be fine tuned to be incorporated into a fashion or costume design that can be constructed and marketed for the clothing industry.
