An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Study of Fear and its Impact on our Lives through Literature and Composition Grade Level Nine FDR said that "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself..." Well, FDR didn't live in a world where fear is marketed on a daily basis through the media, television shows, movies, books, tabloids, etc. Reports of anthrax
scares, terrorist threats, stranger abductions, urban legends, shark attacks, and other "scary things" bombard us through both fiction and nonfiction presentations. Although fear is a common emotion experienced by all humans, what we fear and how we respond to our fears can differ greatly. This thematic unit will explore fear and its impact on our lives.
