Field Of Dreams Or If You Build Them, The Wind Will Come

An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Unit on Wind Turbines Recently the largest wind farm in the US has been constructed in northwest Iowa near our community. This integrated unit is designed to give students a broad background on how the winds have effected the development of the Midwestern plains, the progress of harnessing the wind as a renewable energy source, lessening our dependence on non-renewable resources and decreasing environmental pollution. In addition, it demonstrates the importance of our home area to the state and national economy.
