An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Study of the Theme of Disillusionment in Modern America for Grades 11 and 12. While America has indeed been a haven for the oppressed, a land rich in natural resources and beauty, a model of democracy, and a champion of the individual, it also has another face. By examining the events of the latter part of the 20th century that have caused Americans to feel disillusioned and alienated, students will understand not only the historical contexts, but also those aspects of our individual and national character that allow us to endure.
