From Diego To Day Glo or How The Mexican Muralists Wrote History
An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Unit Exploring the Mexican Muralists and Their Contributions to History, from Diego Rivera to Contemporary Chicano Artists. Murals have been an important part of Mexican art from pre-Colombian times to the present. This interdisciplinary/integrated unit is designed to introduce students to the Mexican muralists and investigate the evolution of mural art from the pyramids to present-day Chicano and urban murals in the United States. Students will understand the timelessness of mural art and its role as a means of expression.
