An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Unit on Colonial America The colonial period up to the Revolutionary War proved to be a time of discontentment for the colonist. It was a period of change in government, religion, economics, politics, and education. The main focus of this unit is on the everyday struggles of the many different groups of people in the colonial period. This unit deals with the many aspects that lead up to the colonies breaking away from England and establishing a new country - United States of America.
