From Hero To Eternity OR "From Knights To Flights Through Human Rights . . . The Quest For The Hero Of The 21st Century

An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Unit for High School Students Exploring Heroes and Their Qualities Past, Present, and Future The study of heroes is important because students today need positive role models. Heroes teach us, captivate us, and inspire us. By looking at the actions of heroes and what made their actions heroic, students can make better decisions in choosing role models. Studying the characteristics of heroic men and women of the past and present can encourage the transfer of altruistic values and give students an awareness of the people who have made the world a better place.
