An Integrated Interdisciplinary High School Unit on the United States from Post World War II to Sputnik An Integrated Interdisciplinary High School Unit on the United States from Post World War II to Sputnik. This interdisciplinary unit is designed for secondary students in American history and American Literature. It acquaints students with how the optimism after WWII was eroded by the Cold War and social issues from 1945-1960. Students will explore issues relating to these changes and their effect on American society. The students will be able to recognize the correlation between post-WWII conflicts and today's problems.
