An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Unit on Exploration from 1271 to the Present Exploration is important because it was and continues to be the driving force in the development and continuation of a society. This unit is designed to give students a basic understanding of the economic reasons for exploration, the technological influences which made it possible, and the impact on the indigenous peoples.
