An Integrated, Interdisciplinary High School Unit on the Cold War Era From 1961 - 1989. This unit employs an integrated, thematic approach for upper level high
school students to study the Cold War, the post- World War II conflict between the USSR and the U.S., "democracy" vs. Communism. This unit
studies the Cold War effects on the American experience in economics,
politics, science, popular culture, and it asks questions about the American
position in a newly configured world. Despite President George Bush's
statement that the Cold War is over, and "we won," many of the effects
linger.
