From Purple Mountain Majesties to Amber Waves of Grain

An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Unit on the Northeast Region of the United States United States is an extremely vast and varied country. It is important for third-grade students to receive a thorough introduction to the United States before the six regions are studied individually. In order for students to understand the five themes of geography as they relate to the six regions, they must have a basic understanding of the culture, history, geography, people, and movement throughout the United States.
