Gone With the Wind or Here Today, Gone Tomorrow

An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit on natural disasters Because of the geographic location and physical characteristics of Texas, the people of this state have often been forced to deal with certain severe weather problems, such as hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, droughts, and northers. Students need to know the characteristics of each of these weather problems. They should be able to describe specific weather events in Texas' past and how Texans dealt with the consequences of these events.
