An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Unit on the Study of The Space Race John F. Kennedy had a dream to have men walk on the moon. With our frontier-conquering, nature-dominating mythology as it was an outgrowth of the political-military race to beat the Russians in the Cold War, it was a dream come true and a triumph for all mankind. This unit will examine the process used, and how the earlier space explorations have helped develop and enhance today's exploration.
