Hamlet To Be Or Not To Be In League With Alfred E. Or Insane In The Men (& Women) Brain

An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Approach to One of Shakespeare's Greatest Plays This unit uses an integrated, thematic approach for upper high school students studying Shakespeare's Elizabethan theater, specifically the tragedy of Hamlet. Hamlet is Shakespeare's most read/performed play; students in high school must have an understanding of the play in order to be culturally literate. This unit specifically focuses on the world of Shakespeare's audience as well as specific literary elements related to drama, Shakespeare, and classic literature. Created by Michigan teachers, this unit, when used in its entirety, aligns tightly with Michigan's English Language Arts Content Standards and Benchmarks.
