How and what a people chooses to celebrate is a reflection of their cultural beliefs and identity.
Our students need to understand the forces of nature that are linked to winter festivities and how these cultural experiences are an integral part of understanding different cultures.
Many of these celebrations have driven the seasonal economy to the point of commercialism.
Students will find which traditions or customs have been able to go across cultural barriers, and are now shared within different cultures.
