Home on the Range "Oh, Give Me A Home Where The Buffalo Roam, and Let The Chips Fall Where They May!"

An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Study of the Pioneers of the Westward Movement for Grades 3 and 4 America has long celebrated a pioneering heritage rich in the virtues of courage, self-reliance, and independence. This unit will introduce students to the American pioneer and reveal the important role the American pioneer played in the development of our country. Students will study features of this young land as well as the lifestyles of the people. Every attempt has been made to insure that students will embark upon a journey through America's past that will accurately replicate the hopes, visions, and struggles of the American frontier.
