An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Study of the 20th Century Family Society depends on two constants for its survival: family systems and work. These two systems have always been interconnected in numerous ways, but in the last few decades, the nature of each system and the ways in which they harmonize and conflict have changed greatly. Since World War II, the family unit as it has been known has changed dramatically. One goal is to understand why these changes have occurred and the effects they are having on society. The unit is important because the students are part of a family and need to develop skills for family living.
