How to Win Friends and Influence Enemies or The Good, the Bad, and the Uncooperative
An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit on Social Skills with emphasis on conflict resolution. To be successful, students must learn to work together by communicating with each other, by understanding one another, and by resolving conflicts that arise between them. Students should also behave in a civil manner in order to get along with others and to stay in school, so that learning can take place.
Inability to resolve conflict results not only in individual arguments and non-learning, but in group tension, gang fights and, eventually, world wars. As each student learns conflict resolution he/she will improve personal relations with others, understand and work with cultural differences, and make their world a better place to live.
