I Cari us to the Clouds or Flight: From Dreams to Reality

An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Unit on Aviation. Since ancient times people have imagined being able to fly. Early mathematicians and novelist have written about the possibility of man flying. A pivotal moment converting this dream to reality was the Wright Brothers flight at Kitty Hawk, NC in December of 1903. This moment in time has generated many technological advances that were once unthinkable and enhanced our everyday life. We will explore three concepts of flight: propulsion, aviation, and navigation. Now that people are airborne we have discovered that the sky is not the limit.
