In sickness and in health, In good times and in bad, I now pronounce you a civilization

An interdisciplinary unit on the beginnings of civilization including an analysis on why groups come together in the first place. Human civilization is the reason we are here today. However has it been a benefit? Each civilization that has developed has ultimately fallen, sometimes under it's own demise and sometimes with the help of outside forces. Would the world be better off without civilization? What made people band together in the first place?
