Jack and the Me Stalk

An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Teaching Unit on Claiming Character Designed for Ninth Grade Ownership of one's "own skin" gives the ninth graders transitioning from middle school to high school a perspective from which the student can comfortably and confidently operate. They can observe, process, connect, analyze, and synthesize elements of social and academic relationships that can be overwhelming at such a critical point in the development of the productive individual. Given this description of the ninth grader in transition, this unit called "Claiming Character" relies upon an integrated/thematic approach to delivering content.
