An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Unit on Health and Wellness We live in a society in which time is at a premium. The result of life in the fast lane is too much fast food and families that go in different direction that no longer socialize as a family unit. Today's children are addicted to video and computer games resulting in inactivity. This has produced a society where 1 out of 4 children are obese.
Families are busy shuttling children from one coach guided event to another. The influence of families is lost in the plethora of coach guided activities. The spirit of play for fun has been lost to the emphasis on winning.
Students will be able to differentiate between healthy and unhealthy behaviors.
