Kansas: Then and Now Or...The Land of the Ahs and AHAs
An Integrated, Interdisciplinary Thematic Unit exploring the development of Kansas from its beginnings to present day The Kansas State Department of Education requires a 9-week study of KS History inserted at 7-12 grade level. This unit designed for middle level is an integrated look at the development of KS from early times to present. By studying about the state in which they live, students will gain a better understanding of their place in the USA, North America, and the world.
All students are citizens of KS and should understand the state's origin and how it affects them today. Understanding where KS was and where it is headed will give birth to creative and productive citizens, concerned with the future welfare of our state.
