An Integrated Interdisciplinary Thematic Unit on Immigration Immigration into the U.S. has greatly affected this nation. It has had a major effect on our politics, economic status, cultural Diversity, religious values, scientific contributions, education, art, literature, and music. The purpose of this unit is to expose students to the reasons behind Immigration and the cultural, moral and social impact (positive and negative) that Immigration has had in various sociological and geographical areas of the United States. Because Immigration still occurs today, it is important for students to understand the changes a nation undergoes due to the process.
