Let's Rock and Roll Coast to Coast. Hot on the Trail - From "Proud Mary" to Buffalo Chips"
An integrated, interdisciplinary study of the Westward Movement. In acquiring a knowledge of people and events that shaped and drove the Westward Movement, middle level students can understand and appreciate their country's heritage/roots. To serve as responsible citizens seeking to preserve the Union, students must know from where that Union has evolved. Students will develop a knowledge base of the different populations and cultures involved. Also, they must see the unique tradition of free movement in which each citizen is entitled to seek his dream expressed in the search for "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness".
