Life on the Line: Same Latitude, Different Attitude

An Integrated, Interdisciplinary Thematic Unit for Sophomores Exploring the Cultural Attitudes and Global Interdependence that Impact the 45th Parallel and the World We Live In. In an ever growing world community, it is essential that members of the community realize their impact and importance at the local, as well as global, level. We will study the different regions along the 45th parallel, and the processes that create a dynamic ever changing world through population growth, economic development, urbanization resource use, international trade, global communication, environmental impact, political differences and cultural Diversity. It will be the students' responsibility to understand their roles in an interdependent world.
