
Lines and Tables and Bars..Oh, My!
An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit based on Graphing, Analysis and interpretatiotn of Data Numbers are presented on a daily basis in magazines and newspapers and on television and radio on topics ranging from crime statistics to performance in sports. Graphs are a concise way of presenting large amounts of data in a way that can be easily processed. They show relationships, comparisons and trends, draw attention, make points about the pictured data, and came be used to formulate predictions. The Ohio Mathematics standards directly address the need to read, create, and use graphs as being integral to the study of data analysis.
