An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Study of Community Cultural Diversity Recent demographic ethnic shifts in local communities create the demand for re-visiting past cultural relationships and/or exploring Diversity within the human family. This unit, through study of ethnic tensions and the impact growth of Diversity has on a community, will enable students to develop cultural empathy, to increase awareness of shared traits within the human family, and to shift from ethnocentrism to inclusion.
