Muck Stops Where? Follow the Yellow Brick Road - From Tin Man to Tin Lizzie

An eighth grade integrated interdisciplinary thematic study of America trasfromed from the 1870's into the 20th century. Post Civil War, the United States' meteoric economic growth and the rise in technology led to new business organizations, social problems, growth of cities, overseas involvement, and large scale movement of people. Students will examine the technological changes, their effects on mankind's lifestyles, awareness, and values as the poplulation moves into the 20th century. As a result of this examination, students will become aware of the continual impact of this time period on their lives.
