My Great Ohio "Moving on West"

An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic, Standards-based Unit on Immigrants Migrating to Ohio Ohio's early history from territorial status to statehood encompassed many important components. This unit will help students understand the impact of European settlement on Ohio's American Indians, economics, cultural groups and land use. In addition, this unit examines how the canal system and railroads affected migration of immigrants to Ohio.
