No Paine, No Gain
An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic 8th Grade Study of the American Revolution. The American Revolution is unique because it succeeded in establishing a radically different kind of government that has survived for over 200 years. Today's students must understand the conditions that produced discontent amongst the colonists. The ideas about man and his relationship to government that were created out of this discontent and the reasons why the new nation formed as it did. This knowledge will provide a foundation for understanding later periods of U.S. history as well as in exercising their responsibilities as citizens.
