An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Middle School Unit on the Era of the Texas Revolution 1829-1836 The Texas Revolution is important because the events leading up to and during the Revolution (or conflicts between the Texans and Mexicans) help us understand conflicts within our world today. Recent events in the world have made us more aware of the need of studying history and recognizing the patterns of conflict. This unit was developed to teach 7th graders:

1) to fully examine the events that lead (caused) the conflict between Texas and Mexico.

2) to appreciate the importance of those who fought and sacrificed for Texas freedom.
